I love you dad and you are always strong.

This is the song that I danced with my father to on my wedding. The song is I Loved Her First by Heartland. It is a lovely song and I love the line, “I knew the love of a father runs deep” (Heartland, line 15). I agree with it because it is the father that have the biggest problem to let their daughter go. It is always hard for them to realize that their daughter is all grown up and that she is married. My dad had problems with realizing that I was getting married. A father also always knows the best which I have learn throughout my life. This is way I like the line, "And I knew the first time I saw you with her, it was only a matter of time" (Heartland, lines 26-27). I think that my father knew the first time he meet my husband that it was right for us. There were no questions in his mind. My dad knows how happy my husband is making me. I am lucky to have a lovely father that supports me like no one else can. No one knows how a father’s love works unless you are a father yourself. There are a line in the song that is telling us the same thing. The line that expresses that you have to be a father to understand is the line, "Someday you might know what I'm going through when a miracle smiles up at you" (Heartland, lines 37-38). This is connected with the sympathy and empathy lecture that Professor Brady talked about last week. If you have not been in the positon you have no idea how it feels. This line is from the father to the son-in-law that he might one day realize how hard it is for him to let his little girl go. The father knows that his son-in-law will not understand because the father did not understand his father-in-law when he got married to his daughter.  A picture of my dad and I on my wedding day.
